Job Summary

The Investment Services Account Operations Manager is critical to GuideStone’s mission of serving evangelical ministries. Your primary function will be to solve problems by owning all aspects of the data reconciliation process between GuideStone’s reporting and analytics system, account custodian, investment managers and, where applicable, client-maintained records. Moreover, you will provide strategic leadership as we seek to implement industry-standard best practices related to the ongoing management and delivery of investment and accounting data.

The Requirements

First and foremost, we want you to have demonstrated your commitment to your faith by being an active member of an evangelical Christian church. GuideStone is, at its heart, a faith-based ministry that serves other faith-based ministries — our employees should share this passion.

Beyond that, the ideal candidate will either be working in public accounting, performing the audits of alternative investment managers, or working for this type of firm and having responsibility for fund/account performance and reconciliation. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is a plus (although we will consider a Finance Degree if you have demonstrated experience working with semi-liquid and illiquid alternative investments). Ideally, you will have five to eight years of professional experience, with at least three of those years in the alternative investment space. Additional licensing or certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CAIA, CIPM) would be very beneficial.

Excel skills are essential to success, as is strong attention to detail and a commitment to working with a high degree of accuracy. Organization is key, and you must demonstrate an ownership mindset and problem-solving approach on every project assigned to you.

The Benefit To You

This Manager-level position will report to the head of GuideStone’s five-person institutional advisory operations team and provides an excellent opportunity to learn the business of a high-quality institutional asset management firm. Every day, you will work closely with a team of highly skilled investment, operations and compliance specialists who have deep knowledge, proven experience and a dedication to serving God’s Kingdom. What’s more, many career growth opportunities are available for ambitious, hard-working individuals that contribute to the work we do.

If this sounds like a professional environment you want to be a part of, let’s talk.
