Position Overview
The Distribution Center Associate is a vital role supporting the mission of ICR and the ICR Discovery Center. This position is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of all inbound and outbound materials. Key duties include pulling, packing, and shipping daily customer and conference orders, as well as receiving, processing, and organizing all incoming inventory and internal/external mail. This is a hands-on position requiring both physical stamina and meticulous attention to detail.
Essential Job Functions
• Order Fulfillment & Shipping: Accurately pull, pack, and process daily customer and conference/event orders using appropriate packing materials and techniques.
• Mail & Freight Processing: Utilize shipping systems to process and manage daily shipments via UPS, USPS, and FedEx. Route all incoming and outgoing organizational mail.
• Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, check-in, distribute, and accurately stock incoming daily and weekly inventory into its correct location.
• Logistics Operation: Safely operate material handling equipment, including a shrink-wrapping machine, pallet jack, and forklift (or willingness to train for certification).
• Vehicle Operation: Operate company vehicles as necessary for supply runs or delivery tasks. A valid driver’s license is required.
• Facilities Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and professional distribution center environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Quality Control: Exercise personal responsibility for quality control and accuracy in all incoming and outgoing package processing.
• Team Contribution: Actively contribute to a positive, uplifting, and collaborative work environment with an upbeat and optimistic attitude.
• Adaptable: Complete other duties as assigned
Requirement
Qualifications
• Experience: At least one (1) year of experience in a warehouse, inventory, shipping, or logistics environment.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college coursework preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Shipping Software: Knowledge of general shipping software (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Station) is a plus.
• Certification: Current forklift operator certification is a plus.
• Interpersonal Strengths:
o Possess a personable, friendly, and hospitable demeanor, that is not easily offended.
o Maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach that proactively pursues results and positive working relationships.
Job Requirements
• Mission Alignment: Agreement with ICR’s core principles and mission.
• Christian Commitment: A written testimony of salvation and faith in Jesus Christ.
• Physical Stamina: Must be physically fit and capable of performing tasks requiring moderate physical strength, including lifting, bending, and carrying packages up to 50 lbs.
• Mobility: Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
• Work Schedule: General hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (schedule is subject to change based on ministry needs).
