Overcome
“Lord, I believe but help me overcome my unbelief!” Isn’t it great that this was recorded for all of us to see? Apparently there is no requirement that we be perfect at believing. Jesus pulled Peter out of the water when he stepped out into the waves and then wavered. Jesus was there when Jairus heard the report that his daughter had died and He reminded him, “Fear not. Believe only.” Jesus is saying the exact same thing to you, “Fear not! Believe only.” He knows you will experience moments that challenge your faith. Don’t let the enemy tell you that you’re failing to receive God’s promises because your belief isn’t perfect enough. Just cast fear far away from you and decide again to believe. Do it whenever you waver and keep your focus on Him. He’ll always catch you when you fall and bring you to safety.
WORDS OF LIFE:
- I believe that God is good and He will help me when I waver.
- By faith I receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to overcome thoughts of fear, doubt and unbelief.
- I thank God that Jesus dwells in me.
